Direct Training

This is also known as 'face-to-face' delivery or 'classroom-based' and can be carried out on- or off-site.

The particular benefits of direct training include :

  • The trainer is present to deliver the course, lead discussion and answer direct questions. Some candidates may benefit more from this format.
  • Fellow participants can benefit from their shared experience and group discussions.

The course has a set start date and is delivered to an agreed time schedule, including the examination. Minimum numbers may be required.

Flexible e-Learning

The benefits of the flexible e-learning format include :

  • A certificated e-learning course is the fastest, easiest and most effective way to achieve compliance with the law.
  • The e-learning format is beneficial for those who will find it difficult to attend a full-time traditional course.
  • It allows candidates from remote areas to access training.
  • It allows a flexible start date.
  • It allows the candidate to access the training at a convenient time both for the individual and his or her employer.
  • It facilitates work at a pace that suits the candidate‚Äôs needs and knowledge level.
  • E-learning is particularly effective for those who do not have English as their first language.

The materials provided will include training programmes accessed on a computer and printed workbooks and/or textbooks. Minimal computer skills are required and full IT support is provided.

Full tutor support is provided throughout by our trained and registered tutors. Once the programme has been successfully completed, the participants will sit the standard invigilated examination, organised by Food Training Scotland. Nationally recognised certification is provided on successful completion of the course and examination.
